Long ago, in a land by the sea – OK, near a lake by the sea – some bold pioneers created a special outpost filled with wonder and delight. Its name was Children’s Fairyland, and it became one of Oakland’s most beloved treasures.
All year round, Fairyland gives children a place to play and learn. But on Thursday, June 1, our magical park will be open to adults only for our “Hidden Treasure” Gala. And you’re invited!
Fairyland is a nonprofit organization devoted to ensuring that all kids have access to the magic of our park. We rely on our annual fundraising Gala to keep our treasure glowing. It’s one of the most enchanting and entertaining events on the East Bay calendar: We decorate the park with twinkling lights, serve bounteous food and drink, and host live and silent auctions. Visitors dress in pirate, fairy-tale, or storybook attire and enjoy a memorable evening on the shores of Lake Merritt.
