Protect Children's Fairyland
Protect Children's Fairyland!
We need your help!
Children's Fairyland is an integral part of our Oakland community. Alongside our fellow organizations, the Oakland Museum of California (OMCA) and Chabot Space & Science Center, Children's Fairyland is an affordable, local recreational, cultural, and educational resource providing enriching and engaging educational programming to nearly 220,000 local youth / students each year.
But as our exhibits and interactive displays age, we no longer have the funding to ensure continued valuable exhibits and programming for children of all ages, including interactive hands-on-learning opportunities, multi-media exhibits, and state-of-the art programming.
That’s why we need YOU! The Oakland City Council may soon be considering our request to place a ballot measure to provide the funding Children's Fairyland desperately needs to continue:
- Providing local children with hands-on learning opportunities
- Maintaining and improving educational programming and training for teachers to help them expand hands-on-learning opportunities in science, technology, art, history, and culture
- Expanding opportunities for low-income families and residents to visit Children’s Fairyland, Chabot Science Center, and the Oakland Museum of California for free
The City Council will be considering our request as early as May 30th, with continued deliberations through June.
