Get Ready for a Fantastic Visit

Children’s Fairyland is a whimsical 10-acre storybook park on the shores of Oakland’s Lake Merritt, designed for families with little ones (ages 0-8). Explore magical playsets, meet friendly animals, watch puppet shows, and enjoy rides, live performances and hands-on fun in a safe, outdoor wonderland. Sparking imagination and joy since 1950!

75 Years in the Making

Fairy Winterland

For 20 years, Fairy Winterland has brought Bay Area families together to celebrate the season in magical, multicultural style. This year’s theme, United by Light, honors the universal traditions that shine across cultures and reminds us that joy, hope, and togetherness connect us all. Enjoy twinkling lights, global crafts, nightly performances, Black Santa visits, festive music, and free cider and cocoa during this beloved holiday spectacular on December 13–14, 20–21, and 27–28.

Twas the Night (21+)

Oakland’s most unique holiday night market returns! On Friday, December 12, Fairyland opens its gates to grownups only for ’Twas the Night Before Fairy Winterland, a 21+ evening of music, magic, and merriment. Wander through twinkling lights, dance to live performances, browse local vendors for one-of-a-kind gifts, and toast the season with festive drinks under the stars. It’s the perfect blend of holiday cheer and Oakland creativity—all in one dazzling night at Fairyland.

Countdown in Wonderland

Join us for a Noon Year’s Eve event and have a blast before bedtime! Join the fun with a dance party, fizzy toast with “shrinking drink”, a proper countdown + ball drop full of noise makers, bubble machines, and a ‘White Rabbit” guest appearance.

Ball-drop Celebrations: 12 p.m. and 3 p.m.
