Get to Know Our Animal Friends
Our new animal talks give you and your little ones a chance to learn more about Fairyland’s furry, feathery, and scaly animal residents. Join our skilled Animal Care Team for informal, educational conversations where curiosity is encouraged and questions are always welcome.
As an added bonus, pick up a stamp card at your first Animal Talk. Collect a stamp for each session you attend and earn a prize when you’ve learned about all of Fairyland’s animal friends.
Animal Talks take place every Sunday at 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m.

The Donkeys

Fun Facts
Chiquita is a miniature Wooley donkey who’s been Gideon’s bestie since 2012. Early mornings before the park opens, they love cruising the Teddy Bear Picnic Area at a leisurely pace.

The Chickens

Fun Facts
“The Ladies” in our chicken coop came to us from different locations, and they vary in age from one to four years. Currently, we have an Easter Egger, a Gold-laced Wyandotte, a Bantam, and a Buff Orpington.

Tomás the Tortoise

Description
Tomás the African spurred tortoise (aka sulcata tortoise) is Fairyland’s newest animal resident. He’s named after one of the founders of the African Aquatics Conservation Fund, whose mission includes the conservation of African spurred tortoises, among many other animals native to Africa.

Oatmeal and Cookie
Sunday, November 2

Fun Facts
Oatmeal is a 13 year old Southdown Babydoll sheep. Cookie is an 11 year old Nigerian dwarf goat who loves to eat whatever Oatmeal is working on, much to Oatmeal’s chagrin.

The Ducks

Fun Facts
Our three ducks have been calling Fairyland home for just over a year. Wallace, our drake, is a Black Swedish, and his ‘angel wings’ make him easy to spot. Lilo is a Swedish Blue and Nani is a Saxony duck. There’s a good reason their pond is the color it is, come find out at the Animal Talk!

Puff the Dragon

Fun Facts
Puff the Bearded (Magic) Dragon has had a residency with Fairyland for many years. Her favorite pastime is being carried around like royalty by the Animal Care Team, being hand-fed blueberries, and catching some sun on Jack and Jill Hill.
