Spring Break Spirit Week (Mar 31 – Apr 4)

Five Days. Five Themes. Endless Fun! Make the most of Spring Break with five days of costumes, educational activities, arts and crafts, movement, games, prizes, stories, and nonstop Fairyland magic. Each day brings a new theme, making this the ultimate week for kids who love to play, explore, and dress up. Join us for all five or pick your favorite—every day is packed with adventure! Days and Details Monday is Space Day: Blast off into an out-of-this-world adventure! The Lawrence Hall of Science brings space-themed activities to Fairyland, sparking curiosity about the cosmos. Kids can launch stomp rockets, craft rocket ships, and explore engineering, aerodynamics, and cause and effect through interactive experiments. Tuesday is Sports Day: The Oakland Roots SC comes to Fairyland with sports activations and giveaways from 12-2 p.m. Get in the game with mini sports setups, basketball origami, and a three-legged obstacle course.   Wednesday is Western Day: Giddyup, giddy kiddies! Head Start Day: Community Fair & Family Entertainment

Head Start Day at Children’s Fairyland is a special day when the Fairy Gates open to welcome children and families of Oakland’s Head Start preschool programs with free admission! Head Start families enjoy complimentary tickets to the park on April 11, and the Fairy Gates will also be open to the public for general admission. The park will be bustling with a community resource fair, a live DJ spinning family-friendly tunes, and a storytime performance for any and all to attend! Location: Teddy Bear Picnic Area Activity time: 10:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Bunny Weekend (Apr 19th – Apr 20th)

Saturday, April 19 and Sunday, April 20 Join us for our annual Bunny Weekend, an egg-ceptional two days of festive Fairyland fun for everyone! We’re springing into sunlit play and celebrating the season of new beginnings. Hare’s what’s happening: 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.: Fairyland Eggs-change 12:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.: Arts & Crafts 12:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.: Fairyland Flower Find 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.: Cookie Decorating 1:30 p.m. & 2:30 p.m.: Mother Goose performances Eggs-Change Your little ones will be egg-static as they search for 3 wooden eggs of the same color to then “eggs-change” those treasures for an even bigger score: the ultimate egg prize! Arts & Crafts: Flower Crown Come create a spring-tastic flower crown in the Old West. Fairyland Flower Find Look and learn in a scavenger hunt where the fun is found identifying flowers by sight and name. Win a packet of wildflower seeds to start your own gardens at home! A Series of Family-Friendly Cooking Shows Back for its third season, Oakland’s Magic Kitchen brings the heart of Oakland’s food scene to Aesop’s Playhouse—live, family-friendly, and full of flavor. And this year's lineup? It's bringing the heat!  Created especially for kids and their grownups, this playful cooking show invites top local chefs to prepare delicious, easy-to-make dishes on stage with some help from everyone’s favorite furry friend, Quercus. Throughout each show, chefs guide the audience through a step-by-step recipe while Quercus keeps the littlest foodies engaged with fun questions, an ingredient-spotting activity, and plenty of  silly antics. Expect laughter, learning, and lots of creative, delicious, nutritious fare.  Stirring up fun!
