Puppet Education in the Park & Beyond
At Fairyland, learning is a delightful adventure for young minds.
Our Puppet Education programs use the power of puppetry to nurture imagination, storytelling, and emotional growth in early learners, whether at the park or inside a classroom.
Drawing from our 75-year legacy in puppetry, we offer both in-park and in-classroom programs that spark curiosity, support social-emotional learning, and get kids moving, singing, and creating alongside our puppet friends, Jax and Bo.
Thanks to the generous support of the PNC Foundation and Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) for making this program possible.
Fairyland in the Classroom
Now Booking for Preschool through 2nd Grade Classrooms
Fairyland brings the puppets to you! Our in-classroom Puppet Education program brings social-emotional learning, movement, music, and plenty of puppet play directly into classrooms. With a portable puppet theater, finger and hand puppets for the students, and two interactive puppet stories featuring Jax and Bo, this 45-minute program helps young children build empathy, express emotions, and work through everyday conflicts together.
Every child gets open puppet play time, and teachers receive a take-home activity to continue the learning.
Fairyland Puppet Players Field Trip
Fairyland Puppet Players is a storytelling workshop focusing on social-emotional learning through puppet engagement. The program teaches tools for emotional regulation and invites children to work through everyday conflicts together as they help puppet protagonists Jax and Bo navigate their “big feelings.”. Children and chaperones will get to use hand puppets and props to join the storytelling through dramatic play, making our latest program an interactive, imaginative, unique enrichment experience.
Hands-on Puppet Playdates
Every Thursday
After the 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. puppet shows
Explore the world of puppetry beyond our traditional puppet show setting and immerse your kiddo in the story of the season. After the curtains close on Thursday’s 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. puppet show, join Jacqui June, our Puppet Education Specialist, for a small-group Puppet Playdate! It’s a chance for kids to get hands-on with puppetry and use their imaginations to create their own puppet stories!
