Juneteenth at Fairyland is a day filled with cultural activities designed to inspire creativity, community, and reflection. Enjoy arts & crafts, games, captivating live performances, Juneteenth literature, and a guest appearance by Bay Area radio star Chuy Gomez.
Celebration Schedule
10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

What is Juneteenth?
Juneteenth commemorates the day when 250,000 enslaved people in the state of Texas, the last Confederate state to hold onto slavery as the Civil War ended, were declared free by the U.S. Army. While the 13th Amendment formally abolished slavery nationwide, Juneteenth marks a significant step in the process of emancipation of Black people in this country and a pivotal turning point for the nation as a whole.
