For one magical night, Children's Fairyland transforms into a 21+ winter wonderland that’s part magic, part music, part soul, and all party! Celebrate the season at Twas the Night Before Fairy Winterland where live R&B music from Bay Area musicians Mickala Cheadle Josey, REBEL, and Joshua Carter cranks up the holiday cheer and sets the tone for the gorgeous open-air marketplace with local artisan wares and talented vendors.

Meet the Performers
Mickala Cheadle Josey
Oakland-born Mickala Cheadle Josey brings her soulful roots and powerhouse vocals to every stage. Her musical journey began at age 10 with UC Berkeley's Young Musicians Program. After mastering classical music for eight years, she continued her education in Vocal Performance at Fresno State University. Known for her versatility, Mickala captivates audiences with tributes to icons like Aretha Franklin and Whitney Houston. She has worked with legends such as Stevie Wonder and Ledisi, and currently performs with the Future Perfect Band, alongside her father, and serves as the Minister of Music at Beth Eden Baptist Church in Oakland.
REBEL
Tre Edwards, known as REBEL, is an Oakland native whose musical journey started at the Oakland School for the Arts. After honing his craft at Berklee College of Music, he toured Europe with Alissia Benveniste and the Funketeers. As the musical director for the Harlem Gospel Choir's European Winter Tour, he showcased his talent on a grand scale. He tours with the Michael Jackson tribute band, FOREVERLAND, while pursuing his solo career. His debut EP, I AM REBEL (2017), blends innovation with an empowering message: your past shapes you, fueling the pursuit of your dreams.
Joshua Carter
Joshua Carter is a dynamic Gospel/Soul singer with a remarkable multi-octave range. He began singing in the choir at Evangelistic Outreach Church at just 3 years old and later refined his talent touring with the Encinal Voices of Gospel. Joshua has performed for the Golden State Warriors and shared the stage with Grammy-nominated artists like Goapele and Syleena Johnson. A captivating performer, he has graced stages at the BET Super Bowl Gospel Celebration and Davies Symphony Hall. Now focused on his solo career, Joshua continues to inspire audiences with heartfelt performances rooted in his love for ministry.
