Here’s how to find us!
Our 10-acre outdoor park is located on the shore of Lake Merritt at Grand Avenue and Bellevue, inside Lakeside Park. If you live nearby, it’s easy to visit us via public transportation. If you’re driving, there is ample paid parking nearby.

July 4th: Road Closures + Access to Children's Fairyland
Fairyland is open for holiday play on July 4!
As Lake Merritt is a beautiful space to enjoy the 4th of July holiday, heavy traffic and some road closures are expected. This is a great opportunity to walk, bike, BART, or ride share to the park!
The City of Oakland will implement temporary road closures and safety measures to control access to the Lake.
• Lakeshore Blvd. will be closed to southbound traffic (the side abutting the lake) from MacArthur Blvd. to East 18th street.
• Bellevue will be closed to through traffic -- Children's Fairyland visitors will be able to come into Lakeside Park and park.
• El Embarcadero will be closed.
• Portions of Grand Avenue will be closed including the offramp from I-580.
Public Transportation
Children's Fairyland is BARTable!
Take BART to 19th Street station. It's a 10-minute walk to Fairyland.
Then, exit to the 20th Street stairway to street level.
Walk on 20th Street to Harrison Street. Turn left on Harrison.
Turn right on Grand Avenue.
Fairyland is one block away, at the intersection of Grand and Bellevue (right side).
On AC Transit (bus):
Take the #12 bus from the 19th Street BART station to Fairyland.
Driving Directions
From Marin, Richmond: Take 80 West to 580 East (toward Hayward).
From San Francisco: Take the Bay Bridge to 580 East (toward Hayward).
From Walnut Creek: Take 24 through the Caldecott Tunnel to 580 East (toward Hayward).
From Berkeley: Take 580 East (toward Hayward).
From 580 East:
Take the Harrison Street exit in Oakland and turn right onto Harrison.
Turn left at Grand Avenue.
Children’s Fairyland is one block away, at the intersection of Grand and Bellevue.
Turn to the right and park.
From Hayward, San Leandro, or Pleasanton:
Take 580 West to the MacArthur/Harrison exit in Oakland.
Turn left on Harrison and left on Grand Avenue.
Fairyland is one block away on the right, at the intersection of Grand and Bellevue.
From San Jose, Hayward, or Fremont:
Take 880 North to the Oak Street exit in Oakland.
Turn right on Oak, which becomes Lakeside Drive.
Turn right on Grand Avenue.
Fairyland is located one block away, at the intersection of Grand and Bellevue (right side).
Parking
Monday through Friday 7:30 a.m. until dusk: $2.00 for the first two hours, $10.00 for the day. Field trip buses may drop off guests. Unfortunately, there is no bus parking available on Bellevue.
Saturday and Sunday: $5.00 for the day.
Please remove all valuables from your vehicle. Unfortunately, break-ins are a reality.
