Twas the Night Before Fairy Winterland (21+)
Fairyland's annual 21+ musical, magical Night Market returns! Twas the Night is the now-famous evening affair before Fairy Winterland, when the park belongs to grownups only (21+). Children’s Fairyland shines bright during Fairy Winterland! An Oakland tradition for 20 years, this magical, multicultural event brings families together to share in the season’s many festivities. United by Light Holiday celebrations across the globe carry one common thread between them all at the end of the year: light! Be it a joyful tree sparkling with cheer, a sacred candle holder telling a story with each burning votive, a glowing lantern signifying triumph, a welcoming home decked out in strings of dancing bulbs, or the embers of a flickering fire, it is the light that ushers the way for new beginnings, familial togetherness, hope, peace, and love. Book Celebration: “The Abominable Snow Dancer”
Yeti or not…it’s time to dance! Join us for a Fairy Winterland Book Celebration full of mythical creatures, magical moves, and one determined dancer. Author/illustrator Steph Lau brings her delightful debut picture book “The Abominable Snow Dancer” to Fairyland for a live read-aloud, an intimate Q&A, art demo, and a book signing following the fun. Follow Otto the yeti as he stomps, spins, and twirls his way toward his dreams of becoming a graceful dancer, even if no one else believes yetis can be light on their feet. Your little ones will fall in love with this touching celebration of movement, imagination, and believing in yourself no matter what!
