Unlock the Magic of Storytelling!
Magic Keys bring stories to life! Around the park you’ll find 20+ Talking Storybook Boxes. Insert your key into a box, turn it, and hear a beloved tale told in English or Spanish. Get yours at the Gift Shop in the park, order online for delivery, or add to your ticket purchase for pickup when you arrive. Magic Keys are a souvenir you can use for every visit—and with colors that change, they’re fun to collect!

Fairyland for All
Visitors who have EBT, SNAP/CalFresh, BIC, or WIC cards now enter the park with a $5 per person admission, for up to 8 individuals per household and can fast-track their way to a discounted membership.
Group Rates
Groups of 10 to 50 people enjoy a discounted admission of $16 per adult and $14 per child.
Group rate tickets can be purchased in advance online or at the gate for walk-up entry.
For groups that are larger than 50 or associated with a school, please visit our Field Trips page or email us.
Guidelines
The group rate is available for groups of 10 to 50 people
Adult to child ratio must be 1:5.
Everyone needs their own ticket and must enter the park together.
Walk-up groups must meet the minimum 10-ticket requirement and purchase all tickets in a single transaction.
There are no specific time slots associated with group tickets.
The group rate is automatically applied at check-out when purchasing 10 or more tickets.
Cancellation & Refunds
If you need to reschedule your visit, please notify us at least 2 days in advance. We do not offer refunds for unused tickets or missed days. Please plan your visit accordingly.
If the park closes due to inclement weather, you can either refund or reschedule your ticket.

We are dedicated to making Fairyland a community in which all children can feel comfortable exploring, be celebrated for who they are, and have agency in their play and learning. We are also invested in being responsive to caregivers’ and teachers’ individual needs.
Parking Information
As you pull onto Bellevue Ave., there is a drop-off zone on the right-hand side past the parking kiosk.
Guests may be dropped off at the white curb and follow the paved path up toward the main entrance.
For parking, the City of Oakland charges $3 for two hours on weekdays and $10 for a full weekday. Weekend and holiday parking is $5.
Ride Accessibility Information
If you or someone in your party are unable to wait in a ride line due to a physical or cognitive condition, you can check out a wristband that will allow you to wait in a separate queuing area. If this is something that would be helpful, please see staff at the Rainbow Desk for assistance. The Rainbow Desk is located inside our Gift Shop. Although the wristband does not provide immediate access to a ride, it will reduce the wait time.
Anansi’s Magic Web: Two children can sit in each carriage; the maximum weight per cage is 90 pounds, and children must be shorter than 54″. Sorry, no adults allowed. Children must be able to sit up on their own and stay seated for the duration of the ride. This ride is not wheelchair accessible.
Flecto Carousel: The ride has two bench seats and 20 horses total. Children must weigh no more than 70 pounds and be between 36″ and 55″; no adults allowed.This ride is not wheelchair accessible.
Alice’s Wonder-Go-Round: This ride may be better suited for children with sensory sensitivities than the Flecto Carousel. Children must weigh no more than 90 pounds; children under 36″ tall must be accompanied by an adult who may stand on the inside of the ride platform next to your child. It has six seats in all, and one seat that is not on a figure. This ride is not wheelchair accessible.
The Jolly Trolly: This ride seats four to a car. Adults are welcome (at least one is required)! The trolly loads front to back and goes around the track twice. The entryway is 14 inches wide and has two steps. Please note that all guests must keep their hands inside the car at all times. This ride is not wheelchair accessible.It is important on all rides to stay on the ride while it is in motion.
Service Animal Policy
Fully trained service animals leashed via a harness or collar are welcome at Children’s Fairyland. No therapy or emotional-support animals are permitted. Please see our Service Animal Policy here.
Days with Fewer Guests
Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays often have lower attendance and noise levels.
Please note, however, that Monday holidays such as Presidents’ Day and Labor Day may be busy. See Park Hours for our seasonal schedule.

Noise-Reducing Headphones
The front desk has pairs of child-friendly noise-reducing headphones that may be signed out and then returned when you leave the park.
Tactile Tote
If anyone in your party is feeling overwhelmed or overstimulated, they may also borrow our Tactile Tote, which contains several sensory toys.

Park Guidelines
Get ready for a fantastic visit to Children’s Fairyland.

Our rides, puppet shows, and live performances are sure to delight. Run up, and roll down, Jack and Jill Hill. Say hello to Gideon and all our other animals—they are ready for you! Feel free to pick a place in the park to picnic with your group.
As always, to enter Fairyland, adults must be accompanied by children and children must be accompanied by an adult.
General Park Rules
As always, to enter Fairyland, adults must be accompanied by children and children must be accompanied by an adult.
Shoes and clothes are required at all times.
Let’s play nice! Physical or verbal abuse towards another guest or staff member will not be tolerated.
Smoking or vaping of any substance is not permitted at any time.
Sitting or standing on any railings or fences is prohibited.
Changing tables are available in all of our restrooms and that’s where all diaper changes should happen.
Be kind. No running or pushing
Stay out of the water and use caution around all wet surfaces.
Children should be supervised by their legal adult guardian at all times.
We love our gardens and put a lot of effort into making them beautiful! So, please don’t climb on, break or pick our plants and flowers. And stay on all paths and designated lawns.
Prohibited Items
Firearms, ammunition, knives and weapons of any kind.
Fireworks or other similarly explosive and/or flammable objects.
Alcoholic beverages.
Bicycles, skateboards, scooters, inline skates, roller skates, roller shoes, remote-control toys, drones.
Open flames.
Ride/Attraction Rules
Lifting children over fences, and playing on fences, is prohibited.
For safety’s sake, stay on the outer portion of the fence while rides are in motion.
“Spot saving” or “line cutting” is never allowed. All riders must be in line at all times to access rides. If you or anyone in your group is found to be violating this rule, the Ride Operator may ask you to step out of line.
Riders must:
Meet minimum height requirements for rides. These minimum heights vary per ride.
Have adequate head and neck control and the ability to sit independently in an upright position.
Stay seated while the ride is in operation.
Wait for our Ride Operators to open the gate before boarding and exiting.

Animal Policy
Pets, or other animals are not allowed at Fairyland. One exception: Service animals that are trained to do work or perform tasks for, and to assist, an individual with a disability are allowed. All other animals, including emotional support, comfort or companion animals, are not considered service animals.
Please do not feed our animals. They have a special diet and outside food can upset their tummies.
Climbing animal fences and/or enclosures is prohibited.
Be kind to our critters too. Harassing them is not ok.
